These icy barriers form when heat escapes from your home into the attic, warming the roof and melting snow. When the melted water hits the colder edges of the roof, it refreezes, creating a dam that blocks drainage. Over time, this can lead to leaks, structural damage, or even mold. Boost Your Attic’s Insulation

A well-insulated attic is your first defense against ice dams. Maintaining a consistent roof temperature minimizes the conditions that cause snow to melt and refreeze.
