Shirley Ann “Bootsie” Cubbage (1939 – 2024)

Shirley Ann “Bootsie” Cubbage, 84, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Shenandoah Senior Living.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, with Sammy Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Cubbage was born to the late Osborne and Anna Mae McDonald Campbell on March 23, 1939, in Luray, Virginia.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Morris J. Cubbage; three brothers, Julian Campbell, Lolia Campbell, and Phillip Campbell; and two sisters, Anna Belle Good and Charlotte Johnson.

She was a seamstress with Aileen Sewing Factory, then later with housekeeping at Warren Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her son, Anthony “Tony” Cubbage of Rileyville, Virginia; two daughters, Stephanie Kay Ray of Hilliard, Ohio and Jacqueline “Jackie” Carper of Front Royal; daughter of her heart, Lorrie Megeath of Front Royal; eight grandchildren, Christopher Cubbage, Nick Cubbage, Cody Cubbage, Jared Cubbage, Andrew Ray, Nathan Ray, Amber Cook and Katie Kawasaki; 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Lou Housden of Stanley.

Pallbearers will be Chris Cubbage, Nick Cubbage, Cody Cubbage, Andrew Ray, Christian Cubbage and Nathan Ray.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Cook, Mike Good, and Junior Talbot.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m..
