Valley Health Earns National Recognition for Excellence in Healthcare IT

Published

on

Valley Health has been honored with a prestigious Level 8 designation in both the Acute and Ambulatory categories of the 2024 Digital Health Most Wired Survey. Conducted by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), this survey highlights top-performing healthcare organizations in information technology.

Barbara Ballard, MBA, Valley Health’s Chief Information Officer, celebrated the achievement: “Being recognized as one of the country’s leaders in healthcare IT emphasizes our commitment to enhancing the digital experience for patients. This accomplishment reflects our continuous investments aimed at delivering high-quality, seamless care.”

This accolade arrives as Valley Health advances its transition to a standalone Epic electronic health records system, a significant step undertaken after parting from Inova’s Epic instance last year. “Our teams’ dedication to improving patient care through innovation is inspiring,” Ballard said, underscoring the health system’s emphasis on operational excellence and patient satisfaction.

The CHIME Digital Health Most Wired survey is a global benchmark that evaluates how effectively healthcare organizations adopt and leverage advanced technologies to improve patient outcomes and organizational efficiency. Valley Health’s Level 8 ranking showcases its forward-thinking use of IT to elevate healthcare delivery in the region.

Valley Health is a comprehensive, not-for-profit healthcare system that serves over a million residents in the Northern Shenandoah Valley and surrounding areas. It operates six hospitals, over 70 medical practices, urgent care centers, and outpatient services. The organization remains committed to enhancing regional health through innovation and community partnerships.
