Gertrude French “Frenchie” Foster

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, with Sammy Campbell officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later date.

Frenchie was born July 11, 1960, in Charlottesville, Virginia, the daughter of the late George Henry and Louise Virginia Darrow Foster.

Frenchie loved the outdoors, watching birds, hunting, and fishing. She was known for nick-naming everyone she met, even animals. Her heart was as huge as this world’s and she would talk to everyone, sharing her love and bringing a smile to their faces. The Rose Hill Health and Rehab staff loved her as if she were one of their own.

Frenchie was a proud member of the NRA.

Her loving family and many friends will greatly miss her.

She worked many years for nursing homes as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

She is survived by two sisters, Barbara Mallory (Steve) and Virgie Foster (Don); one brother, John D. Foster; and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday, November 17.

For her great love of animals, memorial donations may be made to the RAWL, PO Box 396, Amissville, VA 20106.
