Shenandoah Valley Christian Riders Hosting Memorial Motorcycle Ride to Shanksville

Published

on

Local riders will soon hit the road for a special day of reflection, community, and purpose. The Shenandoah Valley Christian Riders are inviting fellow motorcyclists to join them on a full-day ride to the 9/11 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 19. A rain date is set for April 26.

Riders will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Livestock Exchange on Route 50 (1995 Northwestern Pike, Winchester). The group will head out promptly at 9:00 a.m. — kickstands up and engines roaring — for the ride north.

The event is free to join, but donations are encouraged. A recommended donation of $20 per bike will help support the Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA) and its mission of global outreach through motorcycle ministry. All funds collected will go directly to CMA headquarters to aid evangelism efforts worldwide. To learn more about CMA, visit www.cmausa.org.

The ride will include planned stops for breaks, lunch, and time to visit the 9/11 Memorial, located at the crash site of United Flight 93. Riders will have an opportunity to pay their respects and reflect at one of the country’s most powerful national memorials.

“This is not just a ride — it’s a meaningful experience for those who want to connect with others and honor the memory of those lost on 9/11,” said Mitch Berkenkemper, President of the Shenandoah Valley Christian Riders. “It’s also a great way to support a cause that brings faith and community together on two wheels.”

Anyone interested in joining the ride or learning more is encouraged to reach out to Mitch Berkenkemper at berke777@hotmail.com.
