FRONT ROYAL – The Economic Development Authority on Friday announced the retirement of Marketing Director, Marla Taylor Jones, effective October 1, 2017.

Ms. Jones has served in a number of capacities at the EDA since 1995 most recently as Director of Marketing and Business Development since February 2009. “We will miss Marla,” said Jennifer McDonald, Executive Director of the EDA. “She and I have worked together for twenty years, and have watched the community grow and prosper through the ongoing work of the EDA. She has contributed much to that success.”

EDA Executive Director Jennifer McDonald said in a press release that the EDA did not plan to fill the vacant marketing position. Jones will work after her retirement on a part-time basis, working on marketing tasks as assigned.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to do the work of the EDA,” said Jones. “In the years I’ve been here, much progress has occurred in reviving the economy of this community, and I could not be more proud to have been a part of that.”

“We wish Marla all the best in her retirement years,” said Greg Drescher, Chairman of the EDA.
