Ronald “Ron” Ashby Dye (1944 – 2025)

Ronald “Ron” Ashby Dye, 80, of Winchester, VA, died at Winchester Medical Center on April 3, 2025.

Ronald was born April 8, 1944, in Frederick County, VA, the son of the late Arvil Anson and Stella Mae King Dye. He was a graduate of James Wood High School and Shenandoah Conservatory of Music. He worked many years at Fleetwood Enterprises as the lead man in the cabinet shop. Music was one of his many loves, along with hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening. Ronald was a past member of Kernstown United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Shawnee Ruritan Club. One of his favorite roles was as a conductor for the American Legion Community Band of Front Royal.

Ronald married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Knight Dye, on July 15, 1967, at Braddock Street United Methodist Church in Winchester.
Along with his wife he is survived by his sons, Kevin Michael Dye (Chrissy) of Winchester, VA and David Allen Dye (Erica) of Ellendale, MN; brother, Richard Dye (Janet) of Oakton, VA and four grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his brother Dwain Arkie Dye.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home, with Pastor Kyle Sheeley officiating. Entombment will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Community Band of Front Royal, 1122 Happy Ridge Drive, Front Royal, VA 22630.
