Teresa Yvonne Curry

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 4 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, at 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, with Sammy Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Curry was born on October 28, 1964, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to the late Ralph and Jeanette Henry Brookman. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Doug Brookman and Jerry Brookman.

Teresa was a pillar of the community, working at local restaurants for most of her life, bringing joy to both customers and co-workers alike. Teresa enjoyed writing poems for friends and family, bringing happiness to every life she touched.

She was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan proudly wearing her blue and silver year-round. She had an unwavering love for Garth Brooks as his biggest fan. She was always happiest being surrounded by family and friends, making memories. She was known by many as “Big Momma,” always in the kitchen preparing food for an army and enjoying her many delicious creations! She spread her love and joy throughout, especially while planning beach trips and tanning in the sun! Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, sons, and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Mickey Curry; three sons, T.J. Curry (Franzi), Brandon Curry, and Tyler Curry(Madison); brother, Mike Brookman; sister, Linda Jenkins; four grandchildren, Crixus, Ellie, Cohen, and Hadley; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Dementia Society of America, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, or St. Jude’s, as she continuously supported foundations of these sorts throughout her life.
