American Legion Community Band to Perform Free Fall Benefit Concert October 21

Published

on

The American Legion Community Band will present its annual Fall Benefit Concert on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in Boggs Chapel on the campus of Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to support the American Legion’s National Emergency Fund.

This event is a longtime tradition in the community, combining live music with a meaningful cause. The concert is open to all, and families, veterans, and music lovers alike are encouraged to attend. Donations collected during the event will go directly toward helping veterans and their families during times of crisis through the American Legion’s emergency fund.

The American Legion Community Band has been a fixture in Front Royal since it was formed in 1986. Over the years, it has become a source of pride for the town, performing at local festivals, public celebrations, and special community events. All band members are volunteers from the surrounding area, ranging in age and experience, but sharing a common love for music and service.

The group is sponsored by the Giles B. Cook Post #53 of the American Legion, which supports the band’s mission to bring free, live music to the public while also honoring and assisting veterans.

The band’s fall program promises a mix of classical pieces, patriotic tunes, marches, and popular favorites. Audiences can expect a blend of uplifting music and heartfelt moments in a concert that celebrates both community and country.

Each season, the band performs in various venues across the region from September through July. Rehearsals are held weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the Fulton Fine Arts Complex band room at Randolph-Macon Academy. The group is always open to new members who can read music and play an instrument. No auditions are required, and musicians of all ages are invited to join.

The concert on October 21 not only serves as a celebration of fall but also as an opportunity to give back. The National Emergency Fund provides critical aid to veterans who have been affected by natural disasters and other unexpected hardships. Contributions made during the concert will help ensure that this vital assistance remains available to those in need.

By offering a free, family-friendly event, the American Legion Community Band continues its mission of enriching lives through music and service. With the added purpose of supporting the emergency fund, this year’s fall concert is expected to be both entertaining and impactful.

For those who attend, it’s a chance to enjoy quality music while contributing to a cause that supports those who have served.
