Take a Seat at The Dinner Party: Selah Theatre Brings Neil Simon’s Comedy to Front Royal with Humor, Heart, and a Side of Community Giving
This November, Selah Theatre Project sets the table for something more than a play. With Neil Simon’s The Dinner Party, local audiences are invited not only to witness a sharply funny and unexpectedly heartfelt comedy, but also to help fight food insecurity in their own backyard.
Presented at the Stone Branch Center for the Arts as part of Selah’s bold “Roaming Mainstage Season,” The Dinner Party explores what happens when six unsuspecting guests, three divorced couples, are brought together for a mysterious meal in an upscale Parisian dining room. What starts as an elegant evening quickly shifts into something much more vulnerable, emotional, and real.
“This play feels like sitting inside someone’s heart,” said director Bleu Do’zia. “It’s funny, it’s messy, and it’s deeply human, exactly the kind of theatre that belongs close enough for the audience to feel it. This production places the audience right in the heart of the conversation, intimate, honest, and a little delightfully chaotic.”
With Simon’s signature wit and warmth, The Dinner Party serves up laughter, self-reflection, and, just maybe, a second chance at connection.
