Warren County School Board Elects 2026 Leadership

Published

on

The Warren County School Board began the new year by holding its annual organizational meeting and electing new officers to lead the board in 2026.

Superintendent Dr. Troy Wright opened nominations for the School Board Chair position. School Board Member Tom McFadden nominated Dr. Kristen Pence for the position. With no additional nominations submitted, the board voted unanimously to close nominations and proceed with a roll call vote. The result was unanimous, and Dr. Kristen Pence was officially elected as Chair of the Warren County School Board for 2026.

Following the chair election, attention turned to selecting the Vice Chair. Dr.  Kristen Pence nominated Comick McFadden Jr. for the role. Again, with no further nominations, a motion was made and approved to close the nomination process. A roll call vote followed, with all members voting in favor of McFadden.  Tom McFadden Jr. was confirmed as Vice Chair for the coming year.

After the votes were finalized, the gavel was turned over to Dr. Pence, who will now lead the board as it continues its work to support students, educators, and families across the county.

With the leadership team in place, the board is set to move forward with its 2026 agenda, which will include ongoing efforts around student achievement, school safety, capital improvements, and community engagement. The meeting concluded with members taking their seats under the new leadership structure, ready to begin the year’s work.
