AA Speaker to Explain Recovery Program at United Methodist Men’s Dinner

Published

on

The United Methodist Men will host a guest speaker from Alcoholics Anonymous during their monthly dinner meeting on Monday, April 13, at 5:45 p.m.

The speaker will provide an overview of Alcoholics Anonymous, including how the program works and how it supports individuals seeking recovery from alcoholism.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who come together to address drinking problems and support one another in achieving sobriety. Membership is open to anyone who wants to stop drinking, and there are no dues or requirements to participate.

The program is built around the Twelve Steps, a set of guiding principles designed to help individuals overcome alcohol addiction, as well as the Twelve Traditions, which help maintain unity within the organization. Its approach to recovery is outlined in the book Alcoholics Anonymous, which includes personal stories from members.

The event is open to the public. Those who wish to attend the dinner are asked to call the church at 540-635-2935 in advance. A $10 donation is requested to support the group’s mission work in Warren County.

Attendees are also welcome to attend only for the presentation.
