Kathryn E. Warren, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at her home in Warren County, Virginia.

Kathryn E. “Kathy” Warren

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 15, at 2:00 p.m. at the Front Royal United Methodist Church with The Rev. Gary Heaton officiating. Inurnment will be private.

Kathy was born July 5, 1958, in Great Falls, Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Wanda Fern Ryder Hughes.

She was a very involved type of lady, from being very active in the Phoenix Project to helping with the Backpack program through the Front Royal United Methodist Church, putting together stockings for children in need, to baking cookies to take to the shut-ins in nursing homes.

She owned and operated Hair Fashions by Kathy in Gainesville, Virginia, for seniors and did hair for over 50 years.

Kathy was truly a Beacon of Joy and happiness in this world. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.

Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Lloyd Warren Sr.; son, Lloyd Warren Jr.; two daughters, Heather Howard (Stefen) of Chester Gap and Crystal Caruso-Wilson of West Virginia; three brothers, Ricky Hughes and Lester Hughes, both of Florida, and Stanley Hughes of Wilmington, North Carolina; three sisters, Jackie Martin of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, Annie Napolitano of Tennessee and Brenda Hughes-Knox of Kentucky; six beloved grandchildren, Addyson Howard, Adriana Howard, Jacob Howard, Tyler Poe, Brooke Kenney and Kaitlyn Kenney;  four great-grandchildren; and special friends who were like family, Nancy Hughes, Melanie Stull and Becky Hughes.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 15, from 1-2 p.m. at the Front Royal United Methodist Church.

With Kathy’s giving spirit and huge heart, she would want memorial contributions to be made to a charity of one’s choice or the Phoenix Project, 222 S. Royal Ave., Front Royal, VA 22630; the Appalachian Outreach Donation Center, 190 W. Old Andrew Johnson Hwy., Jefferson City, TN 37760; or a local backpack program for school-age children.
