Two days after by-hand demolition of the Afton Inn’s side entrance overhang porch roof, the annex structure added to the 150-year-old building in the 1950’s came down on schedule, the morning of Thursday, September 13.

The annex building will be replaced as part of the demo-preserve-rebuild project undertaken by 2 East Main Street LLC. That project has an estimated 18-month timeframe to completion. The work will come under the watchful eye of the Front Royal-Warren County Economic Development Authority, which will retain ownership in the interest of the town government until the project’s completion.
