STEPHENS CITY – Two men were robbed at gunpoint near Stephens City early Wednesday morning, according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s office.

Capt. Aleck Beeman, spokesman for the FRSO, said that deputies responded to an armed robbery call at5:22 a.m. Wednesday morning, on Fairfax Pike, east of Stephens City.

Two Charlottesville, Va. men, ages 45 and 32, were driving home from the casino in Charles Town, West Virginia, when a red or maroon older model dually pickup truck stopped in front of their vehicle.

A white male reportedly exited the truck and pointed a gun at the victims. As the truck drove away, the suspect entered the victims’ Jeep Cherokee and ordered them to drive to a field off of Valley Pike, south of Stephens City.

The suspect then took their money and had them drive their vehicle onto the railroad tracks causing their vehicle to become stuck. The gunman then exited the vehicle and fled north on the railroad tracks.

The suspect is described as a male in his 30s with a thin mustache, wearing a brownish red shirt and a baseball cap. Police have asked anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 540-662-6162, or Crime Solvers at 540-665-TIPS.
