Arrest Made in April 15 Robbery at Robinson’s Grocery; Suspect Accused of Firing Shot

Front Royal police have arrested David Aaron Deavers, 22, of Front Royal, in connection with the April 15, 2025, robbery at Robinson’s Grocery, 603 East 6th Street.

According to investigators, a masked man entered the store on the evening of April 15, demanded cash from the cashier, fired a single round from a firearm, and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No additional details about injuries or recovered property were released.

After an intensive investigation, detectives obtained warrants and took Deavers into custody. He faces the following charges:

  • Robbery (Va. Code § 18.2-58)
  • Discharging firearms or missiles within or at a building or dwelling house (Va. Code § 18.2-279)
  • Use or display of a firearm in committing a felony (Va. Code § 18.2-53.1)
  • Reckless handling of firearms (Va. Code § 18.2-56.1)
  • Brandishing a firearm (Va. Code § 18.2-282.1)
  • Purchase, possession, or transportation of a firearm following an assault and battery of a family or household member (Va. Code § 18.2-308.1:8)

As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations only. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. Court date and bond information were not provided at the time of this report.
