Blue Ridge Independent’s Outdoor Movie Night & Summer Social coming up this Saturday, August 17

Published

on

To help celebrate the coming end to the summer season, the Blue Ridge Independent is hosting an Outdoor Movie Night and Summer Social event on Saturday, August 17th, 2019. The gates will open starting at 5pm, with the movie starting at 8:30pm and continuing to approximately 10:30pm.

The site is at a large, picturesque field on Sperryville Pike (Rt 522) approximately 2.2 miles southeast of Sperryville, at the former site of the Rappahannock County 4th of July Fireworks in Woodville, VA.

The movie shown will be the original Ghostbusters (1984) along with a Bugs Bunny cartoon short at the beginning, shown under a public exhibition license. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids under 13 and kids under 3 are FREE. Admission is also free for fire and rescue members wearing company t-shirts, military personnel and for law enforcement officers with a badge or official ID.

Food and service vendors and exhibitors will also be taking part, plus information booths from various businesses and organizations in Madison and Rappahannock counties and the surrounding area. Come and meet your friends and neighbors, and make new friends too.

The movie will be shown on a giant 26-foot outdoor movie screen, and lawn seating will be available for everyone on the huge field that has been graciously made available to us for this event. Please bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Please, do not bring any alcoholic beverages or illegal substances as this is a family-friendly atmosphere.

The owners, management staff and reporters from the Blue Ridge Independent will also be at one of the vendor booths to meet their readers and introduce themselves.

Event sponsorships and 10-by-10 foot vendor booths are still available.

Existing BRI advertisers and select non-profit organizations are invited to participate with a vendor booth free of charge (must provide your own table, chairs and pop-up canopy if desired).

New BRI advertisers are also welcome to participate by contacting our BRI Sales Manager. Those interested in participating (new or existing BRI advertisers) should contact Elizabeth Verrocchio, BRI Sales Manager for more information.

We hope to see everyone at this fun family event on Saturday August 17th, 2019.
