Darlene Davis Moore, 78, beloved wife, mother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Darlene was born in 1946 to the late George and Tressel Davis and was raised in Front Royal before moving to Rappahannock in 1969. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Davis.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Louis Moore, Jr of Flint Hill; sister, Dixie Dodson of Amissville; son, Louis Moore III, of Front Royal; daughter, Karen Shotton of Bentonville and her husband, Michael; and son, Jonathan Moore of Flint Hill and his wife, Pamela. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Louis Moore IV, Ian Moore, Laina Moore, Sadie Shotton, Milo Shotton, Webber Moore, and Lucia Moore. She felt incredibly blessed to be able to meet her two great-grandchildren, Louis V, and Ian II.

She opened The Beauty Box in 1976 in Washington, VA. After 43 years of faithfully serving her customers, she retired in 2019.

Darlene had an adventurous spirit and loved traveling worldwide with her beloved friends. She served her community well in several service organizations, served as a deacon and committee member of her church, and played in several local bridge groups, including one that ran for almost 50 years. She had an incredibly welcoming disposition and never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who met her.

Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal on Sunday, January 19, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, followed by a private inurnment in the spring.
