Warren County’s election results reflect completed counts for early voting, Election Day, and mailed absentee ballots. However, provisional ballots remain unreported and will be counted following additional verification processes. While these remaining ballots are unlikely to change the outcome in races with clear leads, they will be included in the final certified results, ensuring every eligible vote is counted.
The results for recent elections in Warren County, Virginia, have been tallied, reflecting decisive outcomes across key races. Here’s a breakdown of how each race played out:
Presidential Race
The presidential race in Warren County largely favored the Republican ticket:
- Donald J. Trump (Republican) led with 67.99% of the vote, totaling 15,000 votes.
- Kamala D. Harris (Democratic) received 30.38% with 6,702 votes.
- Other candidates gathered a small portion of the vote, including Jill E. Stein (Green) with 0.42% (93 votes) and Chase R. Oliver (Libertarian) with 0.41% (90 votes).
- Independent candidates Claudia De la Cruz and Cornel R. West received 42 and 19 votes, respectively.
U.S. Senate
For Virginia’s U.S. Senate seat:
- Hung Cao (Republican) took a decisive lead with 66.28% of the vote, totaling 14,420 votes.
- Timothy M. Kaine (Democratic) followed with 33.54%, or 7,298 votes.
- Write-ins accounted for 0.18% (39 votes).
U.S. House of Representatives, 6th District
In the race for the 6th Congressional District:
- Ben L. Cline (Republican) secured 69.31% of votes, totaling 15,055 votes.
- Ken L. Mitchell (Democratic) received 28.59% of the vote, with 6,210 votes.
- Independent Robert C. “Robby” Wells, Jr. received 1.96% with 426 votes, and write-ins added up to 0.14% (30 votes).
Front Royal Mayoral Race
Locally, voters in the town of Front Royal chose a mayor:
- Lori Athey Cockrell led with 61.31% of the vote, totaling 4,039 votes.
- Tom E. Eshelman garnered 38.07% with 2,508 votes.
- Write-in votes were 0.62% (41 votes).
Front Royal Town Council
Three seats were up for grabs on the Front Royal Town Council:
- R. Wayne Sealock received the highest vote share with 30.88% (3,641 votes).
- Melissa A. DeDomenico-Payne and Glenn E. Wood followed with 26.47% (3,121 votes) and 25.33% (2,987 votes), respectively.
- Walter Joe Mabe garnered 15.78% (1,861 votes), while write-ins received 1.54% (181 votes).
Virginia Constitutional Amendment
Voters in Warren County overwhelmingly supported an amendment to Virginia’s Constitution. The proposal aimed to extend a tax exemption currently available to the spouses of soldiers killed in action to include spouses of those who died in the line of duty.
- The “Yes” vote won with 94.78%, or 20,214 votes.
- The “No” vote received 5.22% (1,113 votes).
