Front Royal Cardinals to Host Youth Baseball Camps at Bing Crosby Stadium
Young baseball players will have a chance to sharpen their skills this summer with the Front Royal Cardinals during two youth baseball camps at historic Bing Crosby Stadium.
The Front Royal Cardinals Baseball Camp is designed to help up-and-coming players learn the same skills Cardinals players use on the field. The camps focus on proper fundamentals in a fun, positive, and instructional environment.
Leading the camps this year will be the Front Royal Cardinals coaching staff and players. Campers will receive instruction from top-level collegiate baseball players from around the country, giving them a chance to learn how the game is played at the college level.
The first camp, the “Fun”damentals Camp, will be held June 15-18, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon. This camp is designed for players looking to improve their overall game. Instruction will focus on hitting, throwing, fielding, baserunning, teamwork, and sportsmanship through drills and activities.
A second camp, the Pitchers & Catchers Camp, will be held June 22-24, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m. This specialized camp will focus on the skills needed by pitchers and catchers, including mechanics, game management, receiving, blocking, throwing, and pitcher-catcher communication.
Both camps are open to players of all skill levels, whether they are new to baseball or looking to improve specific parts of the game. Each camp costs $80, or families may register for both camps for $150.
Campers will receive daily individual instruction, lectures, and demonstrations; individual camp awards; quality coaching; a cookout with players on the last day of each camp; free passes to Cardinals home games; and recognition during a Camp Recognition Night, with the date to be announced.
Participants will generally play in their own age-level groups, though campers may be moved to another group depending on skill and ability.
Campers should bring a glove or mitt, baseball shoes, a favorite bat, batting gloves, a hat, practice pants, and a T-shirt. Families are asked to write the camper’s name on all items. The Front Royal Cardinals are not responsible for lost or damaged belongings.
Parents are welcome to ask staff about the teaching ideas and skills covered during camp. Awards recognizing hard work, enthusiasm, and other positive attributes will be presented at the end of the week. Autographs and photo opportunities will also be available for campers at the end-of-camp picnic.
The Cardinals are encouraging young athletes to “Play. Learn. Grow. Be a Cardinal.”
