Front Royal man named as suspect in rape of two young girls flees area
Front Royal Police are seeking Mike Edward Haymond, a suspect in the rape and forcible of two young girls in Front Royal.
FRONT ROYAL – A Front Royal man named as a suspect in the rape and sodomy of two girls, both under age 13, has apparently fled the area. Front Royal Police say Mike Edward Haymond, 57, was interviewed and subsequently charged with two count of rape and two counts of forcible sodomy.
A media release from the office of Police Chief K.L. Magalis Tuesday states that between the time Haymond was interviewed and a warrant could be secured, the suspect fled the area.
To protect the integrity of the sensitive investigation, the release states, limited information can be released. A reward is being offered for information leading to Haymond’s arrest.
