Get to know your neighbors
You could be the one to set up a block party
In an apartment building, it could be called the third-floor party. On a long block, it could be the west side party. In a suburban neighborhood, you could just call it a block party.
Whatever they’re called, neighborhood parties are booming. All across America, people are enjoying the benefits of getting to know their neighbors and having a great time in the process.
For a group of just several families, the organizer may want to provide a ham or hot dogs for all, asking that everyone coming bring a vegetable dish or dessert, plus their own drinks and table service.
When a great many people are expected, begin by creating a committee. Various members could be in charge of invitations and RSVPs, collecting money for main course meats, plates, utensils, and trash bags.
Another member could be in charge of grills, tables, coolers, and checking to see what potluck dishes the neighbors plan to bring. Someone should also check on city permits, if the gathering will be large.
Providing entertainment will attract more people to your event. The one in charge of this area will supply music and organize events, contests, and races.
If you aren’t acquainted with enough neighbors to form the committee, the smaller party would be a good beginning. Next year, ask those who came to be on your committee for the big block party.

Let’s do it… let us know when and where, we’ll be there to tell share the news!
