Gloria Jean Jenkins (1944 – 2021)

Gloria Jean Jenkins, 76, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 9, 2021, in the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal.

Mrs. Jenkins was born August 16, 1944, in Front Royal, Virginia, the daughter of the late Phillip Russell and Rose Lee Smedley Henry. She retired after many years from the Knotty Pine Restaurant in Front Royal. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Front Royal Chapter #1194.

She was married to the late Charles “Charlie” H. Jenkins.

Surviving is two sons, Wayne Hudson and wife Kathy of Culpeper and Jeff Hudson and wife Sherry of Strasburg; Daughter-in-law, Sherri Hudson of Mt. Jackson; two step-daughters, Lisa and Wendy: 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Timothy Ray Hudson; great-grandson Jonah Hudson; stepson, Bill Jenkins; brother Shirley Henry; and sister Jeanette Brookman.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hudson, Joseph Hudson, Mike Brookman, David York, and David Nichols.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 14 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
