Gwendolyn (Gwen) Lea Tittle, originally from Charleston, West Virginia, was welcomed and celebrated by God and beloved family and friends in heaven on December 8, 2025. Although from West Virginia, it was Front Royal that Gwen considered home. Here, she enjoyed raising her family, embracing church and her community, and, in her later years, spoiling and cherishing her grandchildren (who loved calling her MawMaw). Gwen is survived by: Her Son, Dana Tittle, Her Daughter, Beth Tittle and Beth’s Daughters, Candace Tittle and Cassandra Bhardwaj (Tittle), and Cassandra’s husband Sahib Bhardwaj and their son Zane Bhardwaj, Her Son, Jason Tittle, and his daughter Ever Lily Tittle, Her Daughter, Ronda Baker (Tittle), Ronda’s husband John Baker and their children John Robert Baker and River Joy Baker.

Gwendolyn (Gwen) Lea Tittle

Gwen was born on October 16, 1949, to the late Tully and Frances Moore McElfresh.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Adam Tittle, and the love of her life, Robert Showers.  She approached every day as a unique opportunity to bring light into the world. Each morning, she would wake with a smile on her face and spread her enthusiasm for life and God infectiously to all those around her. Gwen’s approach to life was simple; she enjoyed every day. Her voice was calming, and you could look in her eyes and know what she was thinking, especially when she had a fork in one hand. Gwen’s heart was larger than life. With Gwen, the answer was never “no” but “OK”…as a way to say….we will always figure it out. Her passion and love will be missed by all those who loved her, and she will be held close. Her optimism towards living every day to the fullest will not be forgotten.

Gwen’s family plans to celebrate her life on Saturday, December 13th at 2:00 PM EST at the Freedom Baptist Church in Front Royal, VA. All who would like to celebrate Gwen’s life are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gwendolyn Tittle’s name to Freedom Baptist Church, 1200 N Shenandoah Ave, Front Royal, VA.
