Horace Richard “Ricky” Showers, Jr. (1961 – 2025)

Horace Richard “Ricky” Showers, Jr., 63, of Maurertown, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at his home with his brother, Greg, and grandson, Jessie, by his side.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, with Sammy Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Showers was born on December 29, 1961 in Arlington, Virginia to the late Richard Showers Sr. and to Beverly North Showers.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Showers and grandmother, Jeannie North.  He was a loving husband, father, and poppy and will be greatly missed.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Stephanie Showers; daughter, Cassandra Herald; four sisters, Laura Funkhouser (Steve), April Jenkins (Jerry), Mary Showers, and Hilda Mauck; two brothers, Thomas Showers and Greg Breeden; two grandsons, Jessie Herald Jr. and Ryden Berry; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, including his close aunt, Carol North.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
