Our ‘international correspondent’ Malcolm Barr at Buckingham Palace

From June 7 to June 10, our contributing writer Malcolm Barr Sr. (above) was in London, his home town, where he saw what appeared to be a city under siege — armed police everywhere, screaming sirens almost non-stop, night and day. However, a “sang-froid” populace hurried about their “business as usual,” jamming restaurants and theaters just as they did beneath the German bombings in the 1940s.
He is photographed in front of Queen Elizabeth’s residence about the time Prime Minister Theresa May arrived to explain how she lost her Conservative Party’s parliamentary majority in a botched special election she mistakenly called, expecting a landslide victory a la Hillary Clinton.
Stories of the Barrs’, father and son, nostalgic trip home, with one visually-stunning pit stop elsewhere, will be published in the coming days.
