James J. Coverston Sr. (1942 – 2026)

James J. Coverston Sr., 84, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 11:00 a.m. at Front Royal Baptist Temple with Pastor Carl Menefee officiating. Interment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.

Jim was born January 26, 1942, in Fort Valley, Virginia, the son of the late Clarence Andrew and Zada Golladay Coverston.

He retired after many years from RBS Composites.

Jim was a long-time member and served on the Board of the Valley Glass Hoppers, leading to his enthusiasm for collecting antique glass.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his beloved wife of 58 years, Brenda Joyce Coverston.

He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Surviving is a son, James Jeffrey “Jamie” Coverston Jr. of Front Royal.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
