A February 9 Press Release from Warren County Sheriff Daniel McEathron states that the juvenile suspect had threatened to bring explosive devices to the school later in the week. The Skyline student was taken into custody and is being held at the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center. After questioning by authorities, an emergency custody order was also issued so the student could be evaluated by mental health professionals.
As reported in our initial story on the incident, it unfolded as 18-year-old Caleb Sutphin was having a bond hearing in the January 27 hoax-device bomb scare at Warren County High School. In denying Sutphin bond, Judge John Hart cited “mental health concerns” he felt could make Sutphin a danger to himself or others were he to be released at this time.
School Resource Officer Paul Brenner also met with Skyline High administrators on Wednesday. Warren County Deputies searched Skyline and Warren County High Schools on the evening of February 8 as a precaution and located nothing out of the ordinary, the release stated.
