WARREN COUNTY – Local auto repair shop owners, Bill and Sandy Long have announced that because of the overwhelming response to a contest their garage, The Auto Care Clinic, Inc. recently held, they have decided to award four vehicles as prizes, rather than one.

The garage recently invited the public to nominating deserving persons from the community to receive a good, used vehicle.  One car was slated to be given away, but the Longs said that after receiving 43 nominations the review panel felt that there were four especially deserving candidates.

Sandy Long said in a media release that for the additional cars to be given away, two of the review committee members volunteered to donate their own spare vehicles; plus a long-time resident of Front Royal just happened to donate a vehicle to The Auto Care Clinic for the garage to assist in finding it a good home.

The four candidates were notified on Friday, March 30 and three of them will receive their vehicles this week. Sharon Joyner and her husband Howard Davis of Front Royal picked up their vehicle on Friday.

The Longs expressed their thanks to the review committee, to Dave Morfit of Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance of Front Royal, for sponsoring the event in part, and to those who donated vehicles, as well as those who nominated candidates.
