Lorraine Partlowe Dovel (1942 – 2026)

Lorraine Partlowe Dovel, 84, of Warrenton, Virginia, and formerly of Luray, Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Warrenton.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 24, at 12:00 p.m., with Pastors Josh Parlett and Floyd Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Lorraine was born February 2, 1942, in Front Royal, Virginia, daughter of the late Clarence Smith “Tom” Partlowe and Gladys Muriel Partlowe.

She retired after many dedicated years as an account clerk for the Prince William County Park Authority. She was a dedicated member of NARF.

Lorraine was married to the late Ronald “Ronnie” Gene Dovel.

Surviving is her loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Connie D. McDermott and Tim McDermott of Warrenton; three sisters, Joan Corbin of Luray, Clarine “Dink” Ramey of Front Royal and Judy Williams of Front Royal; one brother, Freddie Partlowe of Front Royal; five grandchildren, Mallorie McKillip, Logan Weatherholtz, Andrea Bruce, Sean Long and Chris Long; and eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt, London, Josie, Cody, William, Weston, Nathan and Walker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Veronica Elinski; and a grandson, Scott Long.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Sean Long, Logan Weatherholtz, Chris Long, Travis Bruce, Neil McKillip, Robbie Cornwell, and Wyatt Bruce.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 24, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
