‘MAWMR’ rides for cancer support groups and fellowship

The northside Warren County Holiday Inn at Blue Ridge Shadows was ground zero for the Mid-Atlantic Women’s Motorcycle Rally 25th anniversary meeting and weekend parade into and around Front Royal. One lady biker we encountered tending to her ride outside the Holiday Inn on Friday, June 16, said she wasn’t a club member but had joined friends at the rally for the Saturday afternoon ride into town as it was a cancer benefit event and she was a survivor.

As reported last week by Norma Jean Shaw, MAWMR has raised about a half-million dollars for two cancer charities that assist women during treatment: H.O.P.E.(Help for Oncology Problems and Emotional Support), based in New Freedom, Pa. and Pink Out Women’s Cancer Fund, based in Hanover, Pa. Both organizations serve cancer patients in the Mid-Atlantic area.
We post these photos taken shortly after 4:30 p.m. Saturday as the club turned off North Shenandoah Avenue onto North Royal Avenue on their way to another left onto Commerce Avenue, where Royal Examiner’s video coverage picks the rally up.
Way to ride for a cause, ladies – welcome, farewell and hope to see you again individually or as a group in Front Royal and Warren County, Virginia.
