Michael Wayne “Bootchie” Grigsby (1963 – 2025)
Michael Wayne Grigsby “Bootchie”, age 61, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the home of his brother. Bootchie was born on October 17th, 1963, to the late William “Hookie” Grigsby and the late Margarette Grigsby.
Known for his sense of humor (even if it was naughty sometimes) and his love of nature, Bootchie was the happiest while outside, whether it was just tinkering with his vehicles, casting a line off his boat, or tracking deer deep in the woods.
His love for the outdoors was evident in his wardrobe choices, always sporting a comfortable flannel shirt or something camouflaged; and he never, EVER, left home without his hat! He also had a knack for finding the best fishing spots and was quite competitive, loving to throw cornhole with his brothers with the hopes of beating them or catching more fish than them!
Bootchie will be deeply missed by his family and is survived by his wife, Susan, and his brothers William “Tinker” Grigsby (Patsy) and Gregory “Todd” Grigsby (Holly), and his nephews who he loved with all his heart, Hunter Grigsby (Courtney), Clayton Grigsby (Kierstin), and Jesse Grigsby. He is also survived by Amanda Taylor or Lucy as he lovingly called her, who was the daughter he never had!
Bootchie will long be remembered for his singing and dancing as well as his stories about anacondas. He was always the life of the party!
A Celebration of Life will be held at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal, Virginia, on Monday, August 4, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to come at 10 am, and the service will start at 11 am. Burial will be in the Grigsby Family Cemetery on Aaron Mountain Road in Castleton, Virginia.

.Honorary pallbearers are Joe Waters, Cleveland Hawkins, and Anthony Hawkins.
The reception will follow the burial at 21 Compton Road, Castleton, Virginia.
