Meet the Author at Samuels Public Library: Norco ‘80 book signing and library fundraiser

FRONT ROYAL, VA – On November 9, 2019, Samuels Public Library will host an Evening with the Author fundraising event with Peter Houlahan, journalist and author of Norco ’80: The True Story of the Most Spectacular Bank Robbery in American History. The evening will include cocktails and heavy hors oeuvres, a presentation by the author, and book signing. Tickets are $30 for a single ticket and $50 for two tickets. Attendees have the option of purchasing a copy of the book for $25 when purchasing tickets. Tickets can be purchased online at www.samuelslibrary.net or in-person at Samuels Public Library, 330 East Criser Road, Front Royal, VA.

Norco ‘80 tells the story of how five heavily armed young men attempted a bank robbery that turned into one of the most violent criminal events in U.S. history, forever changing the face of American law enforcement.

NPR’s Michael Schaub says, “With his first book, Houlahan proves himself to be an astonishingly gifted writer, breathing urgent life into a true story that still resonates today. Norco ’80 is a fascinating truecrime account that seems likely to be one of the best nonfiction books of the year.”

According to Melody Hotek, President of Friends of Samuels Library (FOSL), “The Library is very excited to host Peter in November. We haven’t had a book signing in a long time and we are lucky to get Peter for the evening.”

Money raised through sponsorships and ticket sales at this event will go toward improving the services, programs, and collections the Library is able to offer the citizens of Front Royal/Warren County and surrounding areas.
