Inous Powers, the mother of Carol Barr of Rockland, died over the weekend at the age of 103.

Mrs. Powers was born in Coeburn, Va., and spent most of her life there. She died in the Heritage Hall rest home at Big Stone Gap just two months after her 103rd birthday party.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at the Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, a small town in the hills of southwest Virginia where Carol Barr also was born.

Apart from Carol, she leaves another daughter, Barbara, of Florida, and a son, Ronald, of Oklahoma. Also, among many survivors, son-in-law Malcolm Barr Sr. of Rockland and a grandson, Malcolm Barr Jr. of Gloucester Point, Va.
