Meet the Hutchings family as they remind us that WHAT MATTERS is your heart! I was the listing agent for their High Knob home sale, and it was unexplainably on the market for months. The afternoon before I headed on the WHAT MATTERS Initiative Africa trip this past December, I filmed my first Facebook Live house tour at their home after they had painted it.

While fundraising in Uganda (because I had just experimented with Facebook Live at the Hutching’s home), I decided to use that tool to help with the Go Fund Me WHAT MATTERS $5,000 match campaign. I pledged to match every dollar up to $5k to Light up Life Foundations during the trip (http://www.lightuplifefoundations.com/). I was overwhelmed by the generosity of friends, family, clients and strangers, but I honestly didn’t think the goal would be met…..then, with only one more full day left in Africa, I received a shocking Facebook message from Melissa. She told me that her family had just donated nearly $2,000 to put us over our goal (catch the reaction of the Light up Life Team when I tell them in this video)! Less than ten days after I returned from the trip, the Hutchings ratified a dream contract on their home and had one of the smoothest closing transactions in my career. They closed on their home on February 5, 2018, and I visited them on Good Friday to chat with them about their “story” and tour their lovely new home.
