Republican proposal for minimum wage for children and more Va. headlines

• A Republican member of the House of Delegates has filed a bill to set a $9 state minimum wage for children.—WRIC

• “Months after Gov. Glenn Youngkin tapped them to work on abortion legislation, Del. Kathy Byron, R-Bedford, and Sen. Steve Newman, R-Lynchburg, filed bills to ban most of the procedures after 15 weeks of gestation.”—Richmond Times-Dispatch

• The chair of the state commission investigating the 2019 mass shooting in Virginia Beach said the group would send a letter appealing for information about the shooter’s laptop, which a city employee recently sent to Del. Kelly Convirs-Fowler, D-Virginia Beach.—Virginian-Pilot

• A report from the state’s legislative watchdog agency found only a quarter of completed projects that were awarded state economic development incentives lived up to their announced job creation goals.—Cardinal News

• Chesterfield’s police chief released a statement questioning why the county’s top prosecutor didn’t proceed with charges against a pastor arrested for soliciting minors in a police sting and why she agreed to expunge records of his arrest.—WRIC
