On August 16, 2018, at approximately 5:45pm, the Front Royal Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the 400 block of South Commerce Avenue. When officers arrived, they observed a large group of individuals standing around a female subject who was lying on the asphalt in the Mom’s Country Kitchen parking lot. The female victim was transported immediately by helicopter to Winchester Medical Center (WMC), after EMS assessed her injuries.

During the subsequent investigation, it was revealed that this event stemmed from a potential road rage incident that started on westbound I-66 and culminated in the parking lot of the Front Royal Business Park. The suspect attempted to leave and allegedly struck the female victim while exiting the parking lot. Charges are pending until the investigation is complete and the case staffed with the Commonwealth’s Attorney.

Anyone with further information on this incident is asked to contact Officer J. Miller at 540-635-2111 or email at jmiller@frontroyalva.com.
