Unlike traditional scavenger hunts, participants will dive into an engaging mix of puzzles such as crosswords, word scrambles, and riddles with their teammates or family members. Solving each puzzle leads teams to a location where they search for specially designated affirmation rocks. But the fun doesn’t stop there; upon finding a rock, teams face a lighthearted challenge, ranging from tossing a pool noodle through a hula hoop to a speedy round of Jenga, each adding points to their tally. The ultimate goal? To become the Overall Champion by finishing swiftly and scoring high in challenges.
The vibrant spirit and collective joy of last year’s Warren County Rocks Scavenger Hunt are vividly captured by the 2023 Champions, “Rocking for the Weekend.” Team member Pam Foster shared, “We had a blast! We worked as a team–and laughed as one, too! The whole event was such a good time! THANK YOU for all you did to provide a fun evening! Of course, our team wants to be repeat champions!” This enthusiasm showcases the event’s success and highlights its powerful ability to unite participants in laughter and teamwork, creating unforgettable moments together.
Teams can boost their chances at the championship title by participating in a fundraising competition similar to a walk-a-thon, where sponsors can contribute to the team’s efforts. This not only adds a competitive edge but also supports the crucial work of the Warren Coalition in community resilience, drug prevention, education, treatment, and recovery. The fundraising competition kicks off on April 5, 2024, and runs until the day before the event, allowing teams to gather support and possibly sway the final results.
This year introduces two divisions, one for families and another for adult teams, ensuring an inclusive and fun experience for all ages. With team registration already open, those interested in joining the scavenger hunt have until April 15 to sign up. Registration includes participation in the event, event t-shirts, and refreshments, with the option for individuals or businesses to sponsor a family’s participation.
The event promises a day of fun and challenges and stands as a testament to the Warren County community’s spirit of support and unity. With prizes ranging from gift cards to local favorites and state park day passes, the scavenger hunt is appealing for anyone looking to enjoy a day out with family or friends while contributing to a worthy cause.
Event sponsors play a crucial role, with various levels of sponsorship available for businesses and individuals wanting to support the event and the Warren Coalition’s mission. This year’s sponsors include Skyline Insurance Agency, Berry Media Group, Linsday Chevrolet, Play Favorites, and Melting Pot Pizza, showcasing the community’s strong support for the event.
Those interested in joining the fun, learning more about the event, or supporting the Warren Coalition’s programs can visit the Warren Coalition website or contact the event organizers.
