Warren County Breaks Ground on Countywide Fiber Broadband Network

High-speed internet is moving one step closer to becoming a reality for every home and business in Warren County. On Friday, November 21, local officials and project partners gathered at Rockland Park to mark the start of construction on a new fiber-to-the-home broadband network that will extend service to areas currently without reliable internet access.

The project is a public-private partnership between Warren County, All Points Broadband, and the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) through its Virginia Telecommunications Initiative (VATI). The initiative provides funding for broadband infrastructure in underserved regions, helping to expand access to essential internet services.

The groundbreaking ceremony featured remarks from project leaders, including representatives from All Points Broadband and members of the Warren County Board of Supervisors. With construction underway, service is expected to roll out in phases over the coming months.

Once complete, the network will offer high-speed fiber-optic internet, delivering significantly faster and more reliable connectivity than existing DSL or satellite options. The improved service is expected to benefit homes, schools, farms, and small businesses across rural parts of the county that have long faced digital challenges.

All Points Broadband is leading the infrastructure build. The company, backed by Searchlight Capital Partners, specializes in expanding fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks in unserved and underserved areas throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Their work has already closed the digital divide in several Virginia counties.

Bringing broadband access to rural communities is widely seen as a key to unlocking new opportunities in education, healthcare, and economic development. In Warren County, officials have emphasized that the new network will support online learning, enable more remote work, and help small businesses compete in a connected economy.

The project reflects a broader push across the Commonwealth to bring universal broadband coverage to all Virginians. Through VATI, the state has supported dozens of similar projects in rural counties, aiming to bridge the digital divide once and for all.

In Warren County, where many residents have voiced frustration over slow or unreliable internet, the launch of this project marks a significant milestone. The new network promises to improve daily life for families and create new pathways for growth and connection.

Construction is set to continue into 2026, with updates on service availability to be provided as work progresses. For more information and future service maps, residents can visit allpointsbroadband.com.
