Warren County Sheriff’s Office Conducts Successful Sting Operation Against Online Predation
In a move to combat the online solicitation of minors, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office executed a proactive undercover chat operation on Saturday, February 17, 2024. This operation, focused within the Warren County/Front Royal area, aimed to identify and apprehend individuals targeting minors via the internet with malicious intent.
During the sting, an adult male, later identified as William John Wester, age 25, from Chester, Virginia, initiated contact with an undercover investigator posing as a minor under 15 years of age. Wester solicited lewd photos and content, believing he was communicating with a juvenile female. He further transmitted obscene materials to the investigator, believing them to be a minor, thus incriminating himself through unprovoked and illicit actions.

Following his arrest, Wester was detained at the Chesterfield County Jail on a $7,500 bond, with his court appearance scheduled for April 4, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
