Capon Valley Bank Cider Tasting and Orchard Tours:

Get ready for a unique and immersive experience at the Cider Tasting and Orchard Tours event, coming to Old Town Winchester on Saturday, April 20, 2024. This year, guests will embark on a journey through the flavors and history of the Shenandoah Valley’s apple orchards, offering an exciting new twist to this beloved tradition.

Hosted on the picturesque campus of Our Health, attendees will have the opportunity to savor hard cider tastings from the region’s top cider makers. After indulging in the diverse flavors of hard cider, guests will board shuttles to the Glaize Apple facilities, where they will delve into four generations of apple growing heritage in the Shenandoah Valley.

Shuttle tours of the orchards and facilities will commence after an hour of hard cider tastings, with sessions starting at 11:00 am and the last session beginning at 3:30 pm. Each session is limited to 48 tickets, ensuring an intimate and personalized experience for all attendees.

During the orchard tour, guides will dispense a wealth of information on the planting, growing, and year-round caring of fruit trees (primarily apple). The seasons of a tree are weather dependent and vary year to year, but there is a good chance the orchard will be covered with blossoms and the pollinator bees will be humming! On the tour, you will learn what it takes to go from blossom to apple to hard cider, all while sipping a hard cider yourself!

In addition to the tantalizing cider tastings and informative orchard tours, delicious food options will be available for purchase from various vendors on site, providing the perfect complement to the cider experience.

As this is an outdoor event, guests are advised to wear appropriate footwear for exploring the orchards.

This is a 21 and over event.
