Ernestine S. Woodbridge (1935 – 2024)
Ernestine S. Woodbridge, 88, of Strasburg, Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.

A Home Going service will be held on Saturday, March 23, at 12:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Raymond H. Morton, Jr. of Mount Olive Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be on Tuesday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m. in Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Virginia.
Mrs. Woodbridge was born August 22, 1935, in Benham, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Turner and Myrtle Welch Sykes.
Mrs. Woodbridge was a tremendous cook and blessed everyone with her cooking, including those at the daycare where she worked. She was a Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church member in Triangle and under the watch care of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Middletown.
She was married to the late Eugene Curtis Woodbridge, Sr., U.S. Army retired.
Surviving are four sons, Eugene Curtis Woodbridge, Jr. of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; James Alphonso Woodbridge, U.S. Army retired, of Woodbridge, Lee Andre Woodbridge, Sr. of McDowell, Georgia, and David Turner Woodbridge of Front Royal; two daughters, Patricia Ann Woodbridge of Strasburg, and Tina Atkinson of Toms Brook; one sister, Catherine Sykes Webster of Dale City; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mrs. Woodbridge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters, two brothers, and one grandchild, Tracey Atkinson.
Pallbearers will be Alton Woodbridge, Allen Woodbridge, Jonathon Woodbridge, Sean Woodbridge, Devin Woodbridge, Lee Woodbridge, Jr., Derek Kendall, and Tobin Richerson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 23, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m..
