Curb and Gutter Project Set to Begin in Front Royal

Published

on

The Town of Front Royal has announced the start of a new infrastructure improvement project that will install curb and gutter along with driveway aprons on several local streets. Beginning Tuesday, October 15, 2024, contractor F.H. Paschen will handle the work, which is expected to be completed by approximately December 1, 2024, weather permitting. The work will be done from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

This project will not only include the installation of curbs and gutters but also the construction of driveway aprons for affected homes. These improvements are planned for the following areas:

  • Washington Avenue from 7th Street to the dead end
  • 7th Street from Washington Avenue to Belair Avenue
  • Belair Avenue from 7th Street to the railroad tracks
  • A portion of Sherwood Avenue at Luray Avenue
  • 432 Jamestown Road

Signs will be posted in affected areas to inform residents and motorists. F.H. Paschen will notify residents living on or near these streets directly about upcoming construction.

While work is underway, drivers are asked to exercise caution and remain alert to crews and machinery working in these zones. The town acknowledges that the project may cause some inconvenience for locals, but officials believe the upgrades will improve both safety and the area’s appearance.

Residents are encouraged to contact Steve Scheulen at the Public Works Department at 540-635-7819 for questions or more information.
