Skyline Baptist Church to Host Live Nativity on December 13th

Published

on

This holiday season, Skyline Baptist Church invites the community to experience the true meaning of Christmas at their annual live nativity. The event will take place on Friday, December 13th, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., offering an inspiring and family-friendly way to reflect on the story of Christ’s birth.

Located at 1200 John Marshall Hwy, in Front Royal, the church will feature a walk-through display of painted scenes, including the manger, the arrival of the wise men, the cross, and the empty tomb. “Our goal is to share the complete message of Christmas,” said Pastor Randy DeSantis. “It’s not just about the birth of Jesus, but about the gift of His life and resurrection.”

Bringing the Nativity to Life

This beloved tradition is made possible by the collaboration of Skyline Baptist Church members and local supporters. Candy and Dean Lamb will contribute live animals, including miniature “Jesus donkeys,” sheep, and goats, creating a lifelike and engaging experience for visitors of all ages.

Inside the church, attendees can warm up with hot chocolate, coffee, and homemade cookies while learning more about the significance of the nativity through literature and conversation. “This event brings people together to celebrate and reflect,” said organizer Lois DeSantis. “It’s truly a labor of love from our entire church family.”

A Multigenerational Effort

Children from the church’s King’s Kids program will portray angels and shepherds, while teenagers will play Mary, Joseph, and the wise men. Volunteers coordinate costumes, manage the live animals, and guide visitors through the displays, which include scripture plaques to help attendees connect with the story.

“It’s so rewarding to see the younger generation involved in sharing this message,” said Lois. “They take pride in their roles, and it’s a wonderful way for them to engage with their faith.”

Open to Everyone

The event is free and open to all, and parking attendants will be on hand to assist visitors. Accommodations will also be available for those requiring handicap access.

Skyline Baptist Church extends an additional invitation to their Christmas Eve service, providing another opportunity to gather to celebrate the season.

Save the Date

Mark your calendar for Friday, December 13th, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., and bring your family to experience the beauty and significance of this live nativity.

“Come and celebrate the story of Christmas with us,” said Pastor DeSantis. With its warm, welcoming atmosphere and meaningful message, the Skyline Baptist live nativity is a must-see this holiday season.
