Front Royal to Resume Utility Service Disconnections April 15

Published

on

The Town of Front Royal has announced that utility service disconnections for non-payment will resume on April 15, 2025. Residents with overdue electric, water, or sewer bills should take action now to avoid service interruptions.

Important Details About the Disconnection Policy

  • Delinquent Shut-Off Notices were mailed beginning March 3, 2025.
  • Any account 45 days past due is subject to disconnection.
  • Residential electric and water disconnections may be postponed in extreme weather—when temperatures are above 92°F or below 32°F.
  • Disconnections will not occur on Fridays, weekends, or state holidays.

What to Do If You Receive a Shut-Off Notice

If you are unable to pay your balance in full, contact the Department of Finance before your disconnection date to discuss payment plan options.

To restore service after disconnection, you must pay the full past-due balance along with any applicable fees. Payments made before 4:00 p.m. may allow for same-day reconnection.
