“North Pole Lights” Event to Bring Holiday Magic to Warren County

Published

on

The season of joy will shine bright in Warren County on December 7, as Reaching Out Now and the Raymond E. Santmyers Student Union & Activity Center, in partnership with Warren County Parks and Recreation, present a free, family-friendly celebration: the 2025 North Pole Lights Grand Lighting. The event will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Santmyers Student Union, bringing the community together to kick off the holidays with lights, treats, and festive fun for all ages.

This free event invites families and friends of all ages to come together for a magical evening of lights, laughter, and holiday cheer. Taking place at the Student Union & Activity Center, the celebration promises something for everyone—from classic Christmas moments to hands-on fun for kids.

A Sparkling Kickoff to the Holidays

At the heart of the event is the North Pole Lights Grand Lighting Ceremony, where attendees will witness the first-ever illumination of the community-designed light displays throughout the park. This official kickoff promises to dazzle as the switch is flipped, transforming the space into a winter wonderland. The light display will remain open to the public through December 14, allowing families to revisit the magic throughout the season.

Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus

No holiday event would be complete without a visit from the North Pole’s most beloved duo. Children are invited to bring their wish lists and meet Santa and Mrs. Claus in person. Families can capture the moment with a cheerful holiday photo to remember the occasion.

Free Family Portraits with a Holiday Touch

Thanks to the Family Portrait Project in partnership with Summit Events, families attending the North Pole Lights event will have the opportunity to take home a professional family photo—for free. (Pre-registration is required for portraits. Details and sign-up information can be found on the event website.)

Hot Chocolate Bar, Cookies, and More

Guests can enjoy seasonal treats, including a festive hot chocolate bar, complete with marshmallows, whipped cream, sprinkles, and other sweet toppings. The warm drink station is complimentary for all guests and sure to be a hit on a chilly December evening.

At the holiday cookie decorating station, kids and adults alike can unleash their creativity with fresh-baked cookies, colorful icing, and endless sprinkles. It’s a hands-on way to celebrate—and snack on your masterpiece afterward!

Get Involved with Tree Decorating

Holiday spirit comes alive as attendees are invited to decorate the community tree. Several trees will be on site, ready to be adorned with ornaments, tinsel, and a personal touch from each guest. Whether you bring your own decoration or choose from the wide array provided, your creativity will help make the display truly special.

A Celebration for All

The North Pole Lights event is free and open to the public, designed to create joyful memories and bring the community together in celebration of the season.
