WHAT MATTERS Warren – Congratulations to Cindy Rutherford, 30+ year science teacher at Warren County Middle School, recipient of the November “TEACHERS MATTER” award. This new recognition is sponsored by the Rotary Club of the Northern Shenandoah Valley (AKA The Area ONE|ders) & WHAT MATTERS, as a way to shine a light on the amazing people of the Warren County Public School System. Award winners receive a $50 award, a video recognition and also one dozen Apple House donuts, courtesy of George McIntyre.

Cindy Rutherford had the most nominations by faculty, staff, parents and teachers, out of 90+ worthy nominations. She was shocked at the honor and shared, “I love teaching, and my passion has always been caring about the students that I teach. They don’t care what you know until they know that you care.”
