Front Royal’s Civil War Weekend got underway Saturday morning, as the military camps, hospital and headquarters opened to the public in historic downtown.
In spite of the cooler and drizzly weather, a crowd gathered in time for the musical performances, which were slated to begin mid-morning with the Tuscarora Brass Band playing at the Gazebo. Local musician Bébhinn Egger was also at the venue to entertain attendees with a violin performance and a talk about the instrument.

Both Federal and Confederate Troops marched from Warren Heritage Society to the Court House for demonstrations prior to the 1:30 p.m. Battle of Front Royal reenactment.
Sunday events include a 10 a.m. Soldiers’ worship service at the Gazebo. A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. at the Warren County Courthouse.
