Allen William Derflinger II, 66, previously of Centreville, VA, passed away at his residence in Riverton from complications from CHF, and by grace entered into the presence of the Resurrected Christ on March 25, 2026.

Allen William Derflinger II

Born on April 10, 1959 in Winchester, VA, Allen II was the son of the late Allen William Derflinger and Patricia Lee Saffell Derflinger of Riverton in Front Royal, VA.

Cherishing his memory are his brothers, Rev. Mike (Sherri) Derflinger of Christiansburg, VA, and Clarke (Jennifer) Derflinger of Bristow, VA; and his sister, Ellen (Mike) Conrad of Spotsylvania, VA. He is also survived by three nephews, five nieces, one grandniece, 12 cousins, and a special friend, Rosemarie Casilang and her family of Jamaica, NY. He was always grateful for the memories, experiences, and laughter he shared with his family and friends.

From the time he began mowing yards at nine, Allen battled the effects of scoliosis with strength and perseverance. Allen graduated from Warren County High School (1977) and James Madison University (1981) with a BBA in Accounting & Finance and a minor in Economics. After several years in finance, he worked in retail. His last employment was with Costco in Chantilly, VA, until his disability retirement. He was a lifelong member of Riverton Church.

He was a lifelong fan of the Washington Senators, Redskins, Commanders, Nationals, Capitals, and JMU Dukes.

A service to celebrate Allen’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main St. in Front Royal, with a time for visitation one hour prior. Interment will be after the service in Prospect Hill Cemetery, 200 Prospect Street, Front Royal, VA.

In lieu of flowers and to remember Allen’s life, please enjoy a meal with family and friends and cherish one another.
