Charlotte Juanita Compton (1942 – 2024)

Charlotte Juanita Compton, 82, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away at Westminster Canterbury on Monday, December 2, 2024.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11 AM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, with Pastor Carl Menefee officiating.  Burial will follow at Bentonville Baptist Church Cemetery, Bentonville, Virginia.

Mrs. Compton was born to the late Jay Taylor and Virgie Mary Osborne on May 28, 1942, in Cedar Bluff, Virginia.  She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harlan Osborne, Paul Osborne, and George Picnic; three sisters, Shirley Posante, Helen Osborne, and Opal Osborne; and sister-in-law, Jean Picnic.  She was a former member of Front Royal Baptist Temple.

Survivors include her son, Robert Compton (Kim) of Front Royal; six daughters, Deborah Thomas of Front Royal, Terri Carpenter (Chris) of Bentonville, Tina Compton of Williamsburg, Virginia; Rebecca Allman (Jeff) of Front Royal, Kimberly Cheeks of Front Royal and Lisa Bockey (Charlie of Greensboro, North Carolina; brother, Jay Farley Osborne of Lebanon, Virginia; sister-in-law, Tilda Osborne of Abingdon; ten grandchildren, Bobby Compton (Rachel), Zachary Whited (Brittany), Jacob Dylan, Jesse Cline, Luke Cline, Kalyn Cline, Trent Coons, Hannah Coons, Craig Esteppe and Brooke Esteppe; three great-grandchildren, Gimleigh Compton, Deni Whited and Ashlynn Whited and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kalyn Cline, Luke Cline, Jesse Cline, Zach Whited, Billy Bender and Trent Coons.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
